Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke
Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu LGA, Kogi State
James Abiodun Faleke was born in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State. He trained in purchasing and supply management at Kaduna Polytechnic, finished top of his class, and later took an MBA at Imo State University.
Before politics he spent 17 years in industry, handling procurement, warehousing and commercial management for companies across Lagos. He entered public service in 2003 and went on to serve two terms as a local government chairman.
Since 2011 he has represented Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and he has chaired the House Committee on Finance since 2015.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, London.
Grounded at home
Roots in Ijumu, Kogi State, and a working life built in Lagos.
Assignments held, bills sponsored and programmes delivered, in his constituency and at the national level.
Since 2015 he has led the committee that oversees fiscal policy, revenue and budget management. It is one of the most demanding assignments in the National Assembly.
He has chaired the Committee on Anti-Corruption, National Ethics and Values, and served on Public Procurement, Public Accounts and the House probe into petroleum subsidy.
He sponsored an amendment to the NYSC Act proposing life insurance cover for every serving corps member, so that young Nigerians on national service are protected.
Extensive road rehabilitation across Ikeja Federal Constituency. Better roads mean easier trade, shorter school runs and faster trips to hospital.
More than 1,000 vehicles placed in the hands of unemployed young people. Not a one off payment, but an asset that keeps earning for the family that receives it.
Tools, grants, training and food support delivered to traders, artisans, students and families. One exercise alone reached about 10,000 households.
Prince Abubakar Audu chose him as running mate on the APC ticket, and Faleke went to work. He moved chairmen, ward officers and party structures across all three districts of the state.
The ticket won. Then Audu died while results were still being collated. The votes were transferred to another candidate and the courts did not return them.
He did not defect. He did not incite anybody. He did not trade the moment for a settlement. He went back to his constituency and his committee and kept working. That is the character this network was built around.
